Sizing
How do I know which size to choose?
Measure your child's foot standing, in the evening, and add 10–12 mm (0.4–0.5 in) of growing room. Always work from the larger foot. Our size guide walks through the method step by step.
My child is between two sizes. Which do I pick?
Take the larger one. Room to grow is what you want; a shoe that is slightly roomy is far better than one that is slightly short.
How often should I re-measure?
Every 6–8 weeks for children under three, and every three months after that. Feet grow in bursts and children rarely tell you when a shoe has got tight.
Barefoot shoes
What makes a shoe “barefoot”?
Four things: zero drop (heel and toe at the same height), a wide toe box so toes can splay, a thin flexible sole that lets the foot feel the ground, and no built-in arch support.
Does my child need to get used to them?
Usually not. Most children haven't spent years in stiff shoes, so there's little to un-learn and they simply walk. If your child is older and has always worn structured shoes, ease in over a couple of weeks rather than switching everything at once.
Are barefoot shoes right for every child?
For the great majority of children developing normally, yes — feet develop best when free to move. If a paediatrician or podiatrist has prescribed support for your child specifically, follow that advice. It's about their feet, not feet in general.

Care
How do I clean them?
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air-dry away from direct heat. Don't put them in the washing machine or on a radiator — heat hardens the sole and shortens the life of the shoe.
